What we do

Applying for any sort of IP protection for the first time can be daunting.  In the most basic terms, we are here to help you navigate the complexities of intellectual property law in the UK and elsewhere.  We can advise you on the levels of protection that are realistically achievable, bearing in mind what your competitors are doing or what has previously been made available to the public.

We can advise on how best to protect your ideas.  This may involve preparing and filing an application for a patent, trade mark or design registration.  Applying for protection can sometimes be a long and drawn-out process.  We will therefore keep a close eye on the progress of your application, making sure that deadlines are met and that requests for further information are dealt with promptly.

Contrary to popular belief, simply having protection in place does not mean that you are free to commercialise your ideas.  We can help assess the intellectual property rights of others to determine whether or not there are any earlier rights that could present a commercial risk to your business.

Intellectual property rights are valuable business assets.  We can help you to manage these assets during the life of your product or service in order to safeguard your business interests.
