My background is in electronics and I have a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Bristol University. After my studies, I joined Forresters in 2003 where I qualified as a UK and European patent attorney.
I assist companies, inventors and designers in protecting their IP in Europe and around the world. I am experienced in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and registered design applications to protect a wide variety of different products and technologies.
Most of my time is spent working on patent applications to protect electro-mechanical inventions, with a focus on electrical and mechanical devices, computer software, automotive and bicycle technologies, medical devices and clean/green energy technologies. I often represent my clients at opposition and appeal hearings at the European Patent Office.
I also relish the challenge of securing broad registered design protection for all manner of different designs, from homewares to graphical user interfaces.
I particularly enjoy my work when I am involved at the early stages of a product’s development and seeing the product evolve with the proper IP protection in place.
I am married with two children who keep me busy when I am not in the office. When I find some spare time at home, I enjoy cycling, brewing beer and digital photography.
