As one example among many, every fee earner (at every level) is given a business development budget to spend as desired– because you’re trusted to act in the firm’s best interests. This budget is in addition to spending on approved events, exhibitions, conferences, or travel.
Our Associates are trusted with clients according to their ability and level of experience. Senior Associates are encouraged to assist in the management of the firm, sitting alongside Partners on our various committees. Substantial marketing budgets are available, and we know from lateral hires that at most other firms these are not available to anyone without the title Partner. Those who wish to are allowed to take time out for CSR activities.
All of this exists alongside the benefits you’d expect working as an attorney in private practice, including our private medical insurance, 31 days of annual leave in addition to UK bank holidays, flexi-time, occupational sick pay, compassionate leave, cycle scheme, health cash plan, season ticket loan and contributory pension scheme above the statutory minimum.
