Forresters support racing star as he returns to Silverstone

Forresters is proud to sponsor third generation racing driver, Sam Brabham, as he makes his Porsche Carrera Cup GB debut at his home track of Silverstone, with multiple championship winning team, Redline Racing.

As the 24-year-old makes a return to competitive racing, he thanks Forresters for its long-standing support, which he says has been invaluable to his career on the race track.

The Brabham family is celebrating 70 years of racing heritage, and the event this weekend will mark Sam’s first competitive event for four years.

Since then Sam has never strayed far from driving or the race track, from coaching clients across single-seater formulas to being a stunt driver for the Mission: Impossible 5 – Rogue Nation movie, starring Tom Cruise. More recently, he’s been busy testing Brabham Automotive’s first model, the sensational Brabham BT62.

“It means a huge amount to be making my racing return at a track steeped in Brabham success, with a special livery marking Brabham’s illustrious history,” said Sam. “I’d really like to thank my long-standing partners, Forresters and Ballinacurra House, for their invaluable support.

“I’ve wanted to make the switch to sportscars for a long time. I was lucky to be selected as a Porsche Scholarship finalist in 2015, so at least I have that experience under my belt. This will still be a big challenge but I’m ready and extremely excited to get going.”

Four years ago, Sam became the only family member to win a British Formula Ford race, taking the first wins of his young racing career at Thruxton. This feat was achieved just before his grandfather, and three time Formula One World Champion, Sir Jack Brabham, passed away.

Matt Shaw, equity partner at Forresters said: “Forresters is a long-standing supporter of the Brabham family and we have worked with Sam from early on in his career, so it is great to see him take the step up to sportscars. The Porsche Carrera Cup is a fiercely competitive championship, but Sam has already proved he is blessed with the family’s talent and we are looking forward to seeing how he progresses.

“Motorsport is a great marketing platform and this weekend will be high-profile as Silverstone also hosts the British Touring Car Championship. We are pleased to continue our partnership with Sam, while looking after the Brabham trade marks – especially with its new Brabham BT62 high performance track car coming out. It is an exciting time for the Brabham name and we are thrilled that Forresters can be a part of their success.”
