I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Nottingham and now work in a wide range of fields, and on a variety of IP issues. The majority of my practice now covers trade marks in the UK, EU and overseas, protecting commercial branding, personal names, corporate identities and logos, with a particular interest in motorsport, and the leisure/entertainment/F&B industries. In that respect, The Legal 500 has described me as ‘very efficient, with great attention to detail, knowledge and excellent response times’ and (most recently) as a ‘key figure’ in the firm.
I also have a particular interest in intellectual property litigation and dispute resolution. A significant part of my responsibility at Forresters lies in client development and acquisition – both at home and abroad – which means that I have been lucky enough to travel widely. A growing aspect of my practice also includes working with other professionals on M&A issues, business transfers, portfolio reviews and analyses. Overseas, I have been closely involved with intellectual property protection in China, having visited the country regularly.
Outside of the office, I spend my time running and on the tennis court, and dreaming up elaborate reasons to avoid going to the gym – eating out, following motorsport and spending weekends away have been favourites for a while.
