After completing my studies in engineering with German and spending periods of time working in industry and as a technical translator in Germany, I joined Forresters in 1985.
I qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney and dealt with inventions in the field of mechanical engineering and hydraulic systems before deciding to concentrate on my trade mark practice. Now I specialise in all aspects of UK and international trade mark law and practice. I particularly enjoy the challenge of finding commercial solutions to clients’ trade mark problems, usually involving negotiating agreements with third parties in response to trade mark opposition proceedings.
In addition to my memberships of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys in the UK, I am also a member of The Union of European Practitioners in Intellectual Property and sit on the British Council of that organisation.
By way of relaxation I am a keen runner. I have completed several marathons but now find that a leisurely 5K run is sufficient for me!
