I specialise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Europe, the UK and around the world. I have a particular expertise in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office, including representing clients in ex partes and inter partes oral proceedings.

With an engineering background, I work in the mechanical, electrical and software arts, with specific experience in the fields of personal hygiene, medical devices, oil and gas exploration and drilling, military equipment, scaffolding and formwork, and consumer electronics.

From working closely with a number of direct clients, I have gained a clear understanding of the importance of providing practical, business focussed advice.

Following graduation, I spent three years as a Patent Examiner at the UK Patent Office before taking a role as a trainee patent attorney in 2005 at another firm of patent and trade mark attorneys.  I spent a number of years as a partner at that firm before joining Forresters in 2020.

I am an active member of the Intellectual Property Section of the American Bar Association.  I am presently on the Magazine and CLE Boards and chair of the International Action Group.

Outside the office, I am kept busy by an exuberant young family. As a keen skier, I take any opportunity I can to hit the piste.
