I joined Forresters in 2010 and am part of our Life Sciences and Chemistry team. I patent a diverse range of Life Sciences technology, but have particular expertise in patenting medical devices and bioinformatics. I also have extensive experience working with the food and beverage industry patenting new ingredients and processes.
I enjoy contentious work and have handled a large number of oppositions at the EPO, often involving multiple parties and high-value cases. I apply this knowledge of post-grant proceedings to my wide European and UK prosecution practice to help my clients build robust and commercially-relevant patent portfolios. I also carry out original drafting work.
My clients range from large multinational companies through to start-ups, individuals, and foreign patent firms (particularly those based in the US). Many of my clients have told me that they enjoy working with me as I give friendly and practical advice that makes them feel comfortable and reassured.
I am also very involved in promoting Diversity and Inclusion within the Intellectual property community and am chair of Forresters Equality and Diversity working group.
I graduated from Cambridge University with a MA(Hons) in Natural Sciences, specializing in genetics and evolutionary biology. Whilst at university, I worked for a small pharma start-up company, where I was involved in developing recombinant antibodies to target the “superbug” MRSA.
In my spare time, I love to immerse myself in interior design and DIY projects or cooking with my toddler.
