The team at Forresters’ London office has been given a boost after the leading patent and trade mark firm welcomed two new starters.
Joining as a trainee patent attorney is Nikita Meek who graduated from Imperial College London in 2017 with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering. He has spent the last few years focusing on developing new technology in robotics and computer vision.
Nikita said: “Since joining the Tech Team at Forresters, as a Trainee Patent Attorney, I have dealt with a number of different cases that have given me great insight and experience in the patent application procedure. The switch from Mechanical Engineering to Law was overwhelming at first, but I have quickly transitioned and I cannot see myself doing anything else.
“I was delighted to be offered a place to work at Forresters as it is a top leading firm with a long history. Everyone at Forresters has been extremely welcoming and it has been a joy working here. I am very excited about what the future holds.”
Also joining the team as trainee patent attorney at the firm’s Cannon Street office is Robert Smith. Robert joined Forresters after graduating from The University of Warwick. For his final year project, he analysed the light from stars to search for any changes, which could mean they are merging – leading to a possible stellar explosion.
Robert commented: “I am very happy to have joined Forresters. The firm has a wealth of experience and provides a training programme with an excellent track record, so I knew that this was an opportunity not to be missed. Having started work, I have found Forresters to be a friendly and welcoming place, which has made settling in easy.
“As a trainee patent attorney, I spend the majority of my time gaining practical experience through working on cases with more experienced attorneys. Much of my remaining time is spent preparing for the UK foundation exams coming up this October.”
