Forresters is proud to have been invited to exhibit with Medilink at this year’s Med-Tech Innovation Expo, which is the UK and Ireland’s leading showcase for medical design and manufacturing technology.

Held at the Birmingham NEC on 15TH-16TH May, delegates will be able to talk with experts from Forresters about how to not only protect their companies’ innovations and brands but also save money by applying for patents.

Dr Jagvir Purewal, who will be at the event, said they will be offering free consultations and one-to-one meetings on both days of the event.

“It is very important for Med-tech companies to make sure their intellectual property is protected,” he said. “In this sector, a product is often successful because it has some technical innovation which is attractive to users in the sector and these innovations can be protected by patents.  This makes patents important for Med-tech companies because they stop others from copying their products. Also, when it comes to the medical sector people trust the brands and know they can get a quality product from that brand, which is why trade marks are so important.”

Forresters is a member of Medilink, which is a representative body for the Healthcare Technology sector. Forresters will be exhibiting in the Medilink Pavilion.

“This is a big expo and we are excited to have been invited along by Medilink to be based in its pavilion,” said Dr Purewal. “With Brexit on the horizon, we will be offering to give companies a health check to ensure they have everything in place for our exit from the EU. One thing we will be talking to companies about is Patent Box, which is tax relief on profits generated from patented products. With Patent Box in place, it can take corporation tax down to just ten percent, giving profit straight away to the bottom line.

“We are offering free consultations, with one-to-one meetings, at the event and then if delegates prefer to meet up afterwards we can arrange a time to suit them. They just have to come to our stand in the Medilink pavilion.”

At the expo, delegates will be able to experience live demonstrations of the latest machines, technology, products and services while networking with 4,000+ designers, engineers, innovators and manufacturers from across the medical and healthcare sector.
