Forresters support Winchester Pedal, Paddle, Pace event

It’s an exciting start to the new year for organisers of the Winchester PPP as headline sponsor, Forresters – a leading firm of patent and trade mark attorneys – has pledged to continue its support for another three years.
The Winchester PPP – which stands for Pedal, Paddle, Pace – sees participants cycling, running and kayaking their way through the highways and waterways of Hampshire. The unique event, which has a carnival-like atmosphere, started in 2004 and has so far raised over £100,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
“It’s been wonderful to be the headline sponsor of this fantastic event and we’re really excited to be part of Winchester PPP for the next three years,” said Forresters’ marketing and business development manager Judy Gardner. “Last year, we not only sponsored the Winchester PPP but also took part in it – it was great to be so involved and help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
Lloyd Hoarton, managing partner of Forresters, is also a regular participant in the race. Lloyd is no stranger to fundraising challenges after completing road cycling trips including the Whippet Tour in Yorkshire, the South Downs and the Tapas tour, which is 210 miles around Majorca. He said: “The Winchester PPP sees participants do a 20km bike ride out into the glorious Hampshire countryside, followed by an exciting 5k run in Winchester city centre and a 2km kayak race to finish. The course is tough, but at the same time exhilarating, and I’m looking forward to competing again later this year.”
Event organiser, Richard Nichols said: “Forresters has been an incredible partner for the PPP over the past three years. The financial support ensures that every penny of the entry fees goes straight to Macmillan Cancer Support, and that is of course very important to us. What makes the whole relationship even more powerful is that so many Forresters employees make the time to join in on the day. The enthusiasm and joy in taking part is what makes PPP such a special event in Winchester’s calendar and we are delighted that Forresters will be part of that over the next three years.”
In 2019 the event will take place on Sunday 14th July and registration is now open at www.winchesterppp.co.uk.
