Forresters marks International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Posted:

We are pleased to support this year’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The day has been implemented by UNESCO and UN-Women and is celebrated each year on 11 February.

Forresters is proud to mark this day and to recognise the importance of full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. This is also UNESCO’s main aim for declaring this day as unfortunately women scientists are still underrepresented and struggle to get recognition for their achievements.

By joining the conversation about the importance for achieving gender equality and diversity, we would like to contribute to ending gender bias that holds girls back from pursuing a career in the STEM sector.

Forresters has an established group for Equality and Diversity whose goal is to foster an environment which truly represents our colleagues. The firm is proud to represent a diverse and dedicated workforce which keeps us moving in a clear direction – forwards.

Working alongside our Equality and Diversity group, we created a series of short interviews with some of our patent attorneys about their scientific background and their role at Forresters.
