I joined Forresters in 2001 after obtaining my chemistry degree and a PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Birmingham, where my project focussed on preparing and characterising macrocycles. In 2008 I relocated from the UK to Germany and since then I have headed Forresters’ permanent office in Munich.

I specialise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Europe, the UK and around the world, with particular experience of patent prosecution at the European Patent Office. I am frequently involved with contentious matters including very extensive experience of EPO opposition and appeal matters as well as litigation support. I also regularly prepare patentability reports and freedom to operate opinions for clients.

My practice is focussed on chemistry (including catalysts, small molecules and coating compositions) but I handle a broad range of subject matter including patents for foodstuffs, medical devices, alloys, metallurgy, spectrometry and personal care products together with a wide variety of mechanical subject matter.

I am a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry as well as a foreign member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and I lead the International Patent Practice Subcommittee of AIPLA’s Chemical Practice Committee.

In my free time I enjoy keeping fit in the gym or out running in Munich, I like to travel and I enjoy cooking.
