Forresters Moves To The Gherkin

Posted:

It has been an exciting start to 2021 for Forresters as we have moved to one of London’s most iconic buildings – The Gherkin.

Our London office has moved a short distance from its former location in Cannon Street to the city’s most instantly recognisable tower. The move is part of our commitment to growth and sustainability, allowing us to provide an exceptional service to clients while building on our eco-conscious principles.

This year celebrates the 20th anniversary of when work began on 30 St Mary Axe, better known by its nickname The Gherkin. Its impressive energy-saving methods allow it to use around half the power that a similar tower would usually consume, making it an excellent choice for companies focussed on sustainability.

Lloyd Hoarton, managing partner at Forresters, says they are thrilled with their new office. “We chose The Gherkin as our new office location because the building is an iconic feature of London’s skyline, and was built with longevity and sustainability in mind,” he said.

“As we continue to grow we not only want to continue providing the best possible service to our clients, but we want to do it in an increasingly eco-friendly way.”

The Gherkin uses ingenious energy-saving methods, such as natural ventilation, to cut down on the amount of air-conditioning, and a huge double-glazing effect that sandwiches air between two layers of glass, meaning the office space inside is naturally insulated. Sunlight is also easily able to pass through the building making the work environment more pleasing, and cutting down on office lighting.

Lloyd said: “Our move to the Gherkin is just one of the ways we are building on our sustainable objectives. The coronavirus pandemic will undoubtedly have long-lasting effects on working practices and how we service our clients.  Therefore, we have created a more efficient office space, which combines seamlessly with our remote working capabilities. This includes enhanced phone and video conferencing capabilities, to provide a continually evolving collaborative and quality service to our clients.

“We are continuing to embrace modern working practices including fileless working and a paper-lite office to support the growth of Forresters. The service we provide to our clients will continue to be seamless as we ensure they have the correct IP protection in place for a post-Brexit market.”
