Brexit Process Officially Triggered – But It’s Business As Usual At Forresters, Now And In The Future
Posted:
The UK prime minister, Theresa May, has today invoked Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon, which officially begins the process of the UK leaving the European Union. Under the terms of the treaty, the negotiations should be concluded within two years, and so we expect the UK to have formally left the European Union by the end of March 2019 (although extensions of this deadline may be possible).
We will keep you informed of developments on the Brexit process and timetable.
In the meantime, we remind you that Forresters, with our permanent and fully-staffed presence in Europe, is able, now and after the Brexit process is concluded, to handle all of your European IP matters.
Please see here a copy of our earlier note on this. If you have any questions about any aspect of the Brexit process, or the effect on any particular IP rights, please contact your usual Forresters attorney, who will be happy to give more detailed advice
